Set List

Set List

circa May 2010

Set List is an independent multi-genre music blog.  Posts include research-based articles and YouTube video visual aids.

Posts are published daily and topics are organized thematically on Microsoft OneNote.

Every day is uniquely created and highlights a variety of songs, albums, solo artists, and bands.  Genres and subgenres featured are in wide range but ultimately rest in jazz, rock, and pop rock.  Musicians featured are local to the United States and internationally based.  Op-ed pieces tend toward specialty artist and genre one-offs to reflect detour from typical interest and reach a further audience base.

Set List is in honor of the iconic English rock band, Duran Duran.  The "wild boys" are classic to 1980s pop rock and synth-pop to name just a few that define success leading to the present day.

"Classic" best defines Set List and my personal music aesthetic, if you will.  Classic jazz and classic rock with defining interests branching out from there.

I launched Set List with one vision - anything, and sincerely anything, music.  Over the course of 15+ years, this vision has remained solid but with the evolving entertainment industry, so too have been my daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly posts.

One constant that will never change, and so to save the best feature for last, is end of month set lists.  Every month has a set list of ten songs.  These songs reflect each month's background.  January is all about winter.  February is all about romance.  March is anything spring.  April is a nod to my birthday month.  May is a nod to Set List's anniversary.  June is anything early summer.  July is a nod to America's history.  August is anything late summer.  September is anything Indian summer.  October is all about Halloween spooky.  November is anything Fall.  December...

As my signature motto goes,
